SCHOOL SOCIAL WORK TIDBITS HELLO PARENTS! Welcome Back to School!! Here are a couple of helpful tidbits to help your child in having a successful school year. Just a reminder, if you haven't already, set up a bedtime routine for your child now is a good time to start. Once a routine is established bedtime will go a lot smoother. *If your child is getting enough sleep, it will help them to be more attentive during class, as they are not fighting sleep. This in turn makes it easier to learn. *Also when kids get enough sleep there are less behavior issues! How much sleep should your child get? Preschool (3-5 years). need 10-13 hours School age (6-13 years). need 9-11 hours Teens (14-17 years). need 8-10 hours Hope everyone has a super great school year!! Yesterday I asked the school community to help us buy a new mascot costume. Within 4 hours I had the total amount pledged...$1495!! I had 15 pledges, and of that 15, 12 were SC alumni! The other 3 were parents/grandparents! There were other alumni who offered after the total amount was pledged. I'll hit them later for something else lol. I am so in awe of how quickly it all happened. Thank you all so much! #GoLions #RoarPride

Attention Parents don't forget breakfast with your child is tomorrow morning (Thursday August 29th). We will be serving biscuits and gravy starting at 7:45-8:15. The cost for an adult breakfast $2.50. Hope to see lots of parents in the morning.

UPDATE: We have met our goal in pledges! South Coffeyville School REALLY needs a new mascot costume, but they are super expensive. This one is $1495. We are humbly asking for donations. If you can help please let me know. If you know of a business that might help that would be fantastic! We've already had 2 alumni pledge $100 each! So now we need $1295 more!

The SC Jr. High and HS FCA group has grown to over SEVENTY FIVE members! This is an activity the students can choose to attend weekly during part of their lunch period. A big THANK YOU to our adult volunteers who make this organization possible for our students! We appreciate you! GOOD things happening at SC!
